Our annual Service of Remembrance

Helping After Neonatal Death (HAND) invites you to join us in remembering the beloved children we hold in our hearts. We will have music, poetry readings, a memorial table, and a potluck afterwards. The service is a loving opportunity to connect with others who have also experienced the loss of a child. HAND families, friends, care providers, volunteers and donors are welcome to participate in this memorial celebration.

About the event

We’re pleased to announce this year’s event will be held in person at the Quinlan Community Center in Cupertino, CA. After the service, we will host a potluck meal. Guests are encouraged to bring food or beverages to share.

Memorial table

We will have a memorial table for the service. Attendees can bring pictures or mementos to display during the event if they wish to participate.

All ages welcome

We acknowledge that after the loss of a child it can be painful to see other children. Please remember that children present at the service have suffered the loss of a brother or sister or may be subsequent births. Parents who have children in attendance are sensitive to the fact that there are newly-bereaved families present. We all attend the service for the same reason: to honor the babies we so dearly miss.

Memorial donations

HAND gratefully accepts donations from parents, friends, and family members in honor of a beloved family member. You can make a memorial donation from our website, or write a check payable to HAND and mail to HAND Service of Remembrance, P.O. Box 341, Los Gatos, CA 95031. For memorial donations, please note the child(ren) and parent(s) names and “2023 SOR” in the description or comments.

 
To be included in the printed program, please RSVP or donate by September 8, 2023. Responses after this date are welcome, but will not be included in the printed program.
