Dear HAND families —
We hope that you continue to be safe and well throughout the holiday season and ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
As mentioned in our previous message, HAND has temporarily suspended all meetings at the Mission Oaks Los Gatos location in response to Santa Clara County Public Health Department guidance “prohibiting all non essential gatherings of any number of individuals” in our region.
Despite these measures, HAND continues its mission to help parents, families, and healthcare providers cope with the loss of a baby before, during or after birth. While social distancing measures are in place, we’ll continue to offer peer support groups over Zoom. Please see individual meeting details for instructions on how to RSVP.
Last month, HAND hosted our annual Service of Remembrance virtually for the first time. While a different format than our usual in-person program, we were pleased with the outcome and level of participation in the event. Our volunteers were honored to be given the opportunity to lift up and support our bereaved families in observance of Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month.
For the upcoming holiday season, HAND will offer the following:
Virtual Craft Night – RSVP here!
Dec 03, 2020 – 7:00 pm-9:00 pm PT
This year our annual holiday event is going virtual! We’ll miss the delicious potluck offerings and wide array of craft supplies laid out by our faithful volunteers, but we hope to find the same spirit of remembrance and joy crafting together virtually. This is a wonderful opportunity to connect with others who will be missing beloved family members this upcoming holiday season.
Subsequent Pregnancy Support – RSVP here!
Nov 25, 2020 & Dec 23, 2020 – 7:30 pm-9:00 pm PT
Subsequent Pregnancy Support meetings are provided to address the concerns of bereaved parents who have started or are thinking about starting another pregnancy. These peer support meetings usually take place on the 4th Thursday of each month but have been adjusted to account for the holidays.
Our meeting schedule for Pregnancy and Infant Loss Support remains otherwise unchanged. HAND also continues to provide phone support during this time. Phone Volunteers can listen, share their experiences with loss, and offer valuable information and resources.
Thanks to our gracious and dutiful HAND volunteers for enabling us to continue serving our mission.
