Baby Related Mail
After a pregnancy loss or infant death, it can be very frustrating to continue to receive promotional coupons and information for baby related items through your mail, or to receive baby or pregnancy related emails in your inbox, or to have milestone updates that you won’t reach with this pregnancy posted onto your social media. How do you undo these things?
Direct Marketing Association is a mail preference service that helps you get the mail you want, and stop getting the mail you don’t.

Unsubscribe to Marketing Emails
When you register at websites, enter contests, or request freebies from a retailer, this often gives them permission to send you their future newsletters and marketing emails. That means going back to each website and opting out, or unsubscribing.
Every legitimate email will have a visible unsubscribe mechanism, and this is usually a link at the bottom of the email. If you want to unsubscribe, scroll all the way down to the bottom and look for the “Unsubscribe” link. It’s often in fairly small text so you don’t notice it, but it should always be there. If there isn’t an unsubscribe link, there has to be an email address you can email to opt out, although this is now very uncommon.
Note that “transactional emails” — for example, a receipt for a product you just purchased online or a confirmation that you’ve changed your account settings— aren’t required to have an unsubscribe link.
Telephone Solicitation Removal
The National Do Not Call Registry gives you a choice about whether to receive telemarketing calls. For telephone solicitation removal, follow the online directions at www.donotcall.gov.
These steps will not stop every call or mailing, but they will catch the majority. They may take several weeks to take effect.
